The Abbey Hotel is one of my favorite Art Deco buildings in South Beach. I love its whimsical design. The entrace features two barber poles. Built in 1940 by Albert Anis, the Abbey Hotel features a stunning relief of a salamander on the the front off the hotel. The salamander symbolizes rebirth and passion.
A visual journal of iconic paintings inspired by the artist’s travels to Monet’s Garden in France and a brief sojourn in the Historic Art Deco District in Miami Beach and more.
