FULL CIRLCE: A RETROPSECTIVE EXHIBIT
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who attended my Retrospective Exhibit: Full Circle.
The artist talk was a highlight, and I was delighted to see so many engaged participants. Our discussion began in the Portrait Gallery, where my portraits are intended to spark conversations. The paintings indeed stirred up some fantastic responses, and we delved into the various symbols incorporated into the portraits.
Our journey continued to the Landscape Gallery, where guests were captivated by my tale of Monet’s Garden in Giverny, France. I recounted how the water sprinklers exploded inadvertently wreaking havoc on my painting. It reminded me of the scene in “Alice in Wonderland” where snobbish plants turned on her, mistaking her for a weed, leaving her drenched.
Our final destination was the Lighthouse Gallery. Here, I had the privilege of sharing my personal experiences at lighthouses in Ireland, England, and the United States. One curious individual inquired whether I had physically visited all these lighthouses or relied on photos. I explained that photographs offered someone else’s perspective and concept. I emphasized that the surrounding environment played a vital role in granting me insight into a lighthouse, an interaction I couldn’t derive from someone else’s snapshot.
The evening concluded with a Trivia Contest, and I’m thrilled to announce that two lucky individuals emerged as winners, earning themselves free caricatures.
If you missed the opening reception, there's still a chance to explore the Portrait Gallery, the Landscape Gallery and Lighthouse Gallery through November 30.
